Over ten years of guiding fly fishermen in the Rockport area has taught Captain Paul Brown that the differences between fly fishing and catching fish on a fly are often very subtle. It is these little things that, when done properly, add up to success.
The Bow of the Boat Club offers helpful hints and refinements in technique that have proven successful over the years. Paul's thoughts on fly fishing the Texas gulf coast, from fly selection, to presentation, to spotting fish, to fighting a fish and more will be discussed. All aspects of catching fish on a fly will be covered.
Twice a month, Paul will share a tip, a drill, or a technique developed to improve an angler’s success. These are the same techniques he teaches during a day of guided fishing on the Aransas Bay complex. Each one has been developed and proven over time on the flats of the Rockport area.
